MORPh Mentorship Programme
MORPh Mentorship Programme Overview
MORPh Training has developed a Primary Care Mentorship Programme designed specifically to help:
- Community pharmacists and technicians, hospital pharmacists and technicians and recently qualified pharmacists and technicians transition into a Primary Care setting
- More experienced pharmacists to developing their roles in practices, ICBs, PCNs, and Health Boards
- Experienced pharmacists wishing to move to advanced practice or a supervisory role

Programme Objectives
MORPh’s Mentoring Programme overall objectives are:
- To support the pharmacy professions in primary care to develop effectively competently, confidently and comfortably.
- To progress mentees towards becoming confident to make the move into Primary Care
- To develop competence and confidence in order to be comfortable in their role and their clinical and leadership decisions
- To provide transparent and honest support for developing their careers in whichever direction that the mentee is both qualified and experienced to achieve.
- To develop ‘leadership behaviours’ at all levels of primary care pharmacy
Each participant (Mentee) will be able to choose a pharmacist (Mentor) currently working within Primary Care, from a list relevant to the level they’re currently working at/working towards, to provide a deeper understanding and insight into developing their role.
There will be three levels to the programme to reflect the different levels/skills and experiences of the mentor and mentee.

How Does it Work?
Each mentee will fill out a short questionnaire to ascertain their current level and identify the best match in terms of mentoring level. The mentee will then be shown a list of the most appropriately matched mentors from which to choose from. Once a mentor is chosen, the mentee will head to the booking page to place their order for the number of sessions they require.
Once this booking is complete, a link to book a time slot with the mentor, will be emailed out to the mentee.
Mentor and Mentee Responsibilities
Each mentor and mentee should set an agenda for each session identifying a particular area of need for the mentee as key discussion points.
Each session should be documented by both the mentor and mentee.
Following each meeting the mentee should send over notes and agreed actions/discussion points.
Establishing an Effective Mentoring Relationship
Including Mentoring Agreements, First Meeting, Responsibilities & more!
Successful mentoring relationships are well structured, with clear ground rules and effective provision for development activities and feedback. To be effective, a mentoring relationship needs to be properly structured, so that both the mentor and the mentee (the person receiving mentoring), understand the requirements of the process.
