• Basal/ bolus Insulin- elementary principle
• Types of insulins and duration of action
• Insulin initiation and titration
• Injection technique and pitfalls
• Lipohypertropy and glycaemic variability

Learning Outcomes

• Barriers to starting Insulin, patients’ perceptions, and providers perceptions.
• Indications to initiate insulin.
• Use of concomitant oral therapies and GLP1 with insulin
• Learning about different types of available insulins, short and long acting, analogue insulins, premixed insulins, biosimilar. Insulins.
• Initiating Insulin, When? How? Which insulin? What doses?
• Insulin injection technique
• Avoidance and identification of lipohypertrophy and its consequences in blood glucose control
