The Diabetes Academy – Module 8 webinar is prioritised, and FREE, for Primary Care, PCN, ICB and GP Practice Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Trainees.
This study day will start at 13:00 with the Welcome and Introductions. The webinar will begin shortly after. Our expert speakers will be discussing the following topics:

- Insulin pen devices
- Insulin dosing and carb counting
- Correction factor
- Blood glucose monitoring and 7-point BM chart
- Exercise and insulin adjustment
- DAFNE
- CGM monitoring
- Time in range
Learning Outcomes
- Learning about different available pen devices – disposable and cartridges
- How to calculate bolus insulin doses using insulin carb ratios.
- Learning how to adjust insulin doses if the blood glucoses levels are high before a meal using correction factor.
- Learning about Pitfalls with HbA1c and how it can be misleading.
- Use of CGM devices and superiority over HbA1c in patients using insulin
- Understanding why patients avoid going on insulin – real patient’s video with his story
