MORPh Associate Blog – Darshan Negandhi
We’re delighted to introduce you all to our newest MORPh Associate, Darshan Negandhi.
Darshan’s career has spanned across a wide range of sectors; from hospital, community, industry, academia and primary care, giving him both the depth and breadth of exposure to the local healthcare needs and challenges faced by the profession.
His varied roles have laid the foundation in his understanding of what the NHS and our communities expect from pharmacists, and the integral role in the delivery of new models of care, disease prevention and improving patient-centred outcomes as part of the NHS Long Term Plan. The use of emerging technologies, tools, therapies and Digital Health has been his keen interest as it will play a significant role in the armory of Primary Care Professionals.
As a PCN Clinical Pharmacist, he knows too well the direction of change for primary care and workloads that will impact on primary care pharmacists in order to achieve the requirements set out in the PCN DES contract. He, like you our MORPh learners, has benefited from the MORPh sessions in order to upskill and implement for the benefit of his patients.
Darshan is also a superintendent and director pharmacist of an independent pharmacy where his overall remit is to provide clinical and professional leadership and strategic direction for the practice.
His passion for education and training has been a running theme in his drive to update and upskill fellow colleagues in their competencies. He has also acted as an education supervisor and mentored newly qualified pharmacists as part of their foundation programme.
Currently he has a role as a training facilitator for Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE), and has delivered and facilitated training for pharmacy professionals on various therapeutic areas.
